Initially active in slate mining when it was founded in 1956, the family-owned company now operates in three business areas: precision toolmaking, tool service and series production in injection molding. Having these three areas under one roof offers customers significant advantages. Tools are designed and sampled under real production conditions before being transferred directly to production. The same team that designs the tools also oversees the optimization and validation processes, resulting in short feedback loops and reliable results.</p></div>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>For decades, the automotive industry provided the company with a stable foundation. However, the sector&#8217;s increasing fragility and unpredictability made a realignment necessary. Today, the automotive sector still accounts for around 50 percent of sales, but this percentage is deliberately declining. In recent years, Giebeler has repositioned itself through targeted diversification, in-house developments, and collaboration with partners in China, some of whom are former employees. The company has a strong family culture with flat hierarchies and personal responsibility. This flexible, independent, and globally minded attitude reflects a remarkable affinity with Haitian.</p>
<p>Giebeler&#8217;s production relies on a diverse machine park of 33 injection molding machines with clamping forces ranging from 350 to 16.000 kN. Energy efficiency, process reliability, system flexibility, and operating costs are increasingly important factors in investment decisions. However, the origin of the trusting partnership was another aspect: the service culture of both companies. &#8220;We rarely experience service technicians who stay until the problem is truly resolved without hidden additional costs. <a href="https://www.atr-solutions.de" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Haitian and its sales- and service partner ATR</a> have done exactly that.&#8221;</p>
<p>Whether connecting to a new MES system or stabilizing a challenging material, the Haitian team quickly arrived on site, stayed until the process was stable, and did not leave production until it was secure. Giebeler himself offers a mobile tool service that provides on-site support to customers. The team is almost like an emergency service, immediately ready to respond when a tool needs maintenance, repair, or quick intervention.</p>
<p>This helps keep production lines stable, even in critical situations. This customer-oriented approach formed the natural bridge to Haitian International. So it&#8217;s no coincidence that the Haitian service DNA, embodied by around 40 technicians in Germany and over 200 throughout Europe, resonated.</p></div>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner">The structural conditions in Germany remain challenging: high energy prices, rising labor costs, and complex regulatory requirements are weighing on the cost structure. That is why reducing parts costs and operating costs are top priorities for Giebeler. Flexible manufacturing concepts are needed to be able to respond to fluctuating order peaks. This is where Haitian comes in: Servo-hydraulic drive systems reduce energy consumption throughout the entire cycle, stable plasticizing processes ensure consistent quality, and open interfaces facilitate practical automation without unnecessary complexity. For Giebeler, this means lower machine hourly rates, stable OEE values, and the ability to achieve competitive part costs in a demanding environment.</p>
<p>Giebeler therefore pursues its cooperation with China in a pragmatic rather than ideological manner. For several years now, a reliable partner with local expertise and close personal ties has been producing tools that are then finalized, tested, and certified in Germany. “In the end, every tool bears our stamp.” Customers appreciate this approach because quality, speed, and project responsibility are right—regardless of origin. While design and project management remain in Germany, manufacturing in China has long since caught up in terms of technology. The hybrid model enables short delivery times and an attractive cost-benefit ratio.</div>

Both companies are thus focusing on a balance between global strength and local proximity – for short delivery times, reliable quality, and an optimal cost-benefit ratio.<br />At Giebeler, production data has long been the basis for decisions – from run-at-rate validations to OEE dashboards. Together with Haitian, the machines were the first in the entire machine park to be integrated via EUROMAP interfaces. Giebeler is thus replacing old host interfaces with modern, standardized communication and creating real-time transparency in production. For employees, this means fewer manual checks, faster root cause analysis, and clearer handover between toolmaking and injection molding. For customers, it means documented process stability and traceability—efficiently implemented.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The outlook is clear: the market will continue to change significantly over the next five years. Price pressure is increasing, while quality, service, and energy consumption are becoming decisive criteria in purchasing decisions. With its hybrid business model (local + China), combination of technical depth and service expertise, and optimized cost structure, Giebeler considers itself well positioned.</p></div>

We are speaking with Lukas Beneder, third-generation managing director, and Rudolf Derntl, who has shaped the company for over three decades as operations manager.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">As we enjoy doughnuts and coffee – it is the beginning of carneval season – Lukas Beneder and Rudolf Derntl tell us enthusiastically about their customers, the special requirements of their products and the refinements of lighting technology. Whether small series for private individuals or well-known department stores, their passion for their work is evident in every word they speak. Rudolf Derntl gives us the keys of lighting technology. 100% product quality, especially on the surfaces of reflectors and lenses, as well as the high durability of the parts, are top priorities. A large proportion of the products are also supplied to the automotive industry, where Beneder supplies components for headlights and technical parts.</p></div>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p style="text-align: justify">But things are changing in Josefstal as well. “We are fortunate that we are less affected than others as a contract injection molder with our broad portfolio,” says Lukas Beneder. “Nevertheless, we have to operate more cleverly than before. Complexity is increasing not only on the product side, but to the same extent in business management.” Which brings us to the second important aspect besides quality: flexibility at maximum efficiency.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">These circumstances led to Beneder&#8217;s first encounter with Haitian&#8217;s Zhafir electric brand last year. “Without Büchler as a local partner, we probably would not have looked into Haitian if it were not for the advantages and solid specifications of the electric Zeres,” explains Rudolf Derntl.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Lukas Beneder reports that the decision in favor of Haitian was ultimately based on a variety of factors. These included technical specifications, reliability, energy savings and, last but not least, Büchler&#8217;s expertise in selecting the appropriate peripherals, service and free on-site training. “And because the price of the machines was ‘quite ok’, we immediately added a second one,” smiles Rudolf Derntl.</p></div>

<p style="text-align: justify">After the interesting conversation, we set off with the two of them to the production halls. The tour first takes us through the showroom, where Beneder impressively presents its extensive expertise. Production then takes place on two floors. Toolmaking on the second floor and injection molding on the second. The machinery comprises a total of 16 state-of-the-art injection molding machines.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">On entering the production area, we immediately notice the numerous tools on the high shelves – flexibility and quality are indispensable for each individual machine from Beneder.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Among the machinery, we quickly spot the two Zeres machines from Haitian International, equipped with Haitian Hilectro robots. The IMM’s have a clamping force of 120 t and 60 t. “As a typical production schedule, we use the two machines to manufacture technical components and light reflectors. The average time that the tools remain on the machines is about 80 hours.” These are the only two electric machines in production to date.</p></div>

The cycle time is 15.8 seconds with two cavities. In the immediate neighborhood, the smaller Zeres 60t produces reflectors that are a prime example of precision and consistency.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">“Sometimes you have to adapt a little if you usually produce on tie-bar-less machines, but otherwise we are very satisfied with the two machines,” says plant manager Rudolf Derntl. Also, the often dreaded problems with relearning a different control system were not an issue due to the intuitive menu navigation.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">During our tour, we also come across a 600-ton machine (Beneder mainly produces on smaller clamping force sizes), which is no longer in regular use. “Smaller parts and series are now the trend in the industry,” explains Lukas Beneder. “The flexibility of our machinery and, of course, our many years of expertise allow us to react dynamically to these developments while ensuring the highest quality.”</p></div>

<p>Keda Equipment&#8217;s smart manufacturing base in Sanshui District, Foshan City, officially started operations earlier this year. This new base is an advanced work following the introduction of extensive digital smart technology and hardware facilities by Keda Equipment. The base adopts a one flow &amp; one-stop model, allowing large structural parts to undergo continuous operations from cutting and welding, annealing, primer sandblasting, machining, to final painting and shipment. The one-stop model ensures that the entire process for large structural parts is completed within the factory.</p>
<p>The first phase of Keda Equipment&#8217;s smart manufacturing base covers 100 thousand SQM, with four production workshops. Thanks to high investment, the plant has an underground drainage system, hardened roads with “four horizontal and two vertical” layout, full pile foundations, and high factory heights. These provide a comfortable working environment for employees and optimal conditions for machine cooling, ventilation, and smoke exhaust.</p>

<p>Early last year, Keda Equipment signed a contract for 15 large machining centers from Haitian Precision. Zhou Guosheng recalled, &#8220;When building this factory, I visited nearly 200 factories across the country, including almost all equipment manufacturing plants in South China. Our facility is the largest gantry machining center cluster in South China.&#8221; From installation to commissioning and from production ramp-up to stable production, Haitian Precision provided meticulous service, ensuring strict adherence to the production schedule.</p>

They are primarily used for large structural parts such as frames and beams, including large cast and forged parts. All gantries are equipped with the latest system versions, offering user-friendly programming tailored to Keda Equipment’s commonly used parts, saving time and facilitating employee operation during busy work conditions.</p>
<p>The innovative dual gantry machining center further enhances efficiency and is user-friendly for operators, allowing one employee to operate two machines simultaneously, significantly speeding up production. This novel custom equipment serves as a reference model for large structural equipment manufacturing enterprises.</p>

<p>Zhou Huajiang explained, “The application personnel from Haitian Precision Machinery showed us the automated line for standard parts and planned a tailored solution for us, which I found aligned with my ideas. Mold part processing is very different from standard parts. From discussing the plan to introducing the automated line, we went through many rounds of adjustments, including continuous improvements and optimizations after the line arrived at the company. It is now successfully in production, meeting my expectations.” This step taken by Haitian Precision and Huazhong Mold provides a replicable template for the digital, low-cost, and high-efficiency development of mold enterprises.</p>

<p>In the production workshop of Huazhong Mold, we saw the FMS automatic line, which consists of four Haitian Precision CFV1100 vertical machining centers, along with loading and unloading stations and AGV carts, enabling an “8+16” intelligent manufacturing mode. The production line operates with minimal human intervention for 8 hours during the day, handling loading, clamping, and inspection tasks, while running unmanned for 16 hours at night, significantly boosting production efficiency.</p>

<p>Chen Guangzeng, manager of the processing department, jokingly said, “The automatic line has solved the problem of employees unwilling to work night shifts and young people unwilling to enter factories.” He explained, “This automatic line realizes functions such as automatic tracking, automatic correction, automatic edge detection, and automatic tool setting. Previously, operators had to manually set electronic levels and re-align each tool, which was time-consuming. Now, these issues are resolved through probes and automatic macro programs, avoiding human errors.”</p>

It has been running steadily for six years, with swing angle accuracy maintained at around 0.02mm, performing exceptionally well.</p>

Renowned for its large-section ductile iron castings, the company is a leader in its field. <p>Stepping onto the vast Gobi Desert, the distant Qilian Mountains encircle the expansive land, while large trucks transport goods along endless highways. Continuous rows of wind turbines operate year-round, delivering clean energy to the central and eastern regions of China. This area, Jiuquan, is one of China’s richest in wind energy resources and has excellent development conditions.</p>
<p>Riyue Heavy Industries (Gansu) Co., Ltd. is located in the Jiuquan Economic and Technological Development Zone. Leveraging the rapid growth of the new energy industry and the rich geographical resources of Jiuquan, Riyue Heavy Industries established its first base outside Ningbo here. Within just eight months of construction, a 120,000 square meter factory emerged, showcasing the impressive “Riyue Speed”.</p>

<p>Riyue Heavy Industries started in 1984, initially producing small conventional products. As its business expanded, it began collaborating with Haitian. Whether producing injection molding machine templates or large casting components, Riyue and Haitian grew together, co-developing and manufacturing complex parts.</p>
<p>In 2014, Riyue expanded into machining, urgently needing a batch of machine tools. Haitian Precision became the first choice, promptly providing the necessary equipment. Ke Hongguo, Deputy Plant Manager of Gansu Riyue, recalls, “We have great confidence in Haitian. Our Xiangshan base has had good experiences using Haitian’s machine tools, so we prioritized Haitian Precision’s machining centers for our Gansu base.”</p></div>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>Gansu Riyue primarily manufactures components for onshore wind turbines, including hubs and bases, requiring machine tools with high rigidity, strong cutting power, and a wide processing range. The factory&#8217;s eight large heavy-duty gantry machining centers from Haitian Precision, with ultra-wide ram slides and six-meter-wide gantries, ensure stable operations. Deputy Plant Manager Cai Anqiang praises, “Haitian Precision’s gantry machines have wider ram slides than usual, reaching 500&#215;500 mm, meeting our cutting rigidity requirements.”</p>
<p>Cai has experienced the stability of these machines firsthand. The first 10-meter gantry at the Xiangshan base, installed ten years ago, still runs smoothly with a very low failure rate. “Haitian Precision equipment has a much lower failure rate than others, staying below 2%, which is a very good figure, giving us peace of mind in production.”</p>

<section>In 2022, during the harsh winter of December, with heavy snow in the northwest, Haitian Precision took on the significant responsibility of ensuring timely installation of equipment at the Gansu Riyue site. They sent a highly skilled service team to live and work alongside Riyue employees, even staying in containers to provide around-the-clock service. This dedication helped bring the first phase of the 100,000-ton annual wind power casting and machining project to life.</p>

The courses included numerous practical case studies, allowing trainees to familiarize themselves with techniques in a simulated environment and effectively apply what they learned. The participants engaged in serious study and active exchanges, integrating theory with practice, and expressed that they found the training highly beneficial.</p>
<p>Through a series of offline training activities, customers gained a deeper understanding of Haitian Precision’s manufacturing capabilities and developed significant trust in its equipment and service levels.
